A Ph.D Position is available of the Institute of Polymer Chemistry, University of Stuttgart (research group of Prof. Dr. Michael R Buchmeiser), starting April 1st, 2019.


The research topic focuses on the Synthesis and characterization of N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-based Mo-imido and W-oxo alkylidene catalysts; mechanistic and kinetic studies of catalytic reactions and their application in olefin metathesis reactions.

This position is for at least 3 years, salary level TV-L E13 (50%), and requires a Master degree (or equivalent) in inorganic or organometallic chemistry, as well as good communication skills in English. Experience in Schlenk line techniques, glovebox is a prerequisite. The candidate must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other group members.
