The Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Science at the University of Stuttgart is looking for a post-doctoral researcher in the area of technological innovation and entrepreneurship with involvement in research, teaching and outreach activities.

The institute’s research foci are technological innovation and entrepreneurship, with particular attention to digital transformation aspects. We blend research, teaching, and transfer activities. By facilitating entrepreneurial learning and innovative activities on campus, we aim to foster an entrepreneurial mindset of students and scientist of all disciplines. The Post-doc will contribute to existing and lead new research projects in topics like corporate-startup collaboration in the context of digitization, new paths and mechanisms for science and technology commercialization, the generation of entrepreneurial ecosystems or the evolution of innovation ecosystems. An embedding in the existing research lines at the institutes is expected.

We are looking for a person that is:

  • A motivated team player to explore a research topic connecting entrepreneurship and innovation with science and technology at a technical oriented university
  • Interested in engaging (co-supervising) PhD students, as well as supervise bachelor/master theses and other student projects
  • Experienced in publishing research outcomes in high impact international journals
  • Passionate to teach on related topics to students at all levels
  • Interested in doing research that has an impact on industry and academia
  • Motivated to contribute to the development of the institute, supporting internal organizational tasks

Required qualifications:

  • PhD in a topic related to entrepreneurship & innovation, with an engineering, natural science, mathematics, computer and data science, management (business administration), economics, psychology, or sociology background
  • Experience in teaching (Bachelor, Master, Executive Education) and in publishing research (or with an advanced pipeline), ideally in English and German
  • Published research in high impact international journals
  • Advanced knowledge on research methods (qualitative and/or quantitative)
  • Fluent in English. German is desired but not mandatory

Other information:

  • This is a 50% position; it can also be a reduced 25% part-time job. Earliest starting date is April 2021.
