We currently have an opening for a

HiWi position in Computational Cognitive Science (m/f/x)

for 10 hrs/week in the first two months at a rate of 10.77€/h - 17.01€/h depending on your academic degree. After two months, we want to prolong the contract long-term (> 6 months).

The HiWi position is closely linked to the Institute for Visualization and Interactive Systems (VIS). You will also get the opportunity to join our lab-meetings and get training from experienced EEG researchers.

Your tasks:


  • Improve Online-Material for Lecture “Signal processing and Analysis of human brain potentials (EEG)”, preparing them for public release
  • Prepare educational graphics for CC-by public license
  • Cleanup EEG Exercises & Solutions
  • Help to setup the EEG lab (order & selection of hardware)
  • Generate pptx-templates for the lecture & group


  • Once COVID allows: Record EEG data
  • Once COVID allows: Lab-manager duties

The Cluster of Excellence “Data-Integrated Simulation Science” (EXC 2075) is an interdisciplinary research center with more than 200 scientists performing research towards a common goal: We target a new class of modeling and computational methods based on available data from various sources to take the usability, precision, and reliability of simulations to a new level.
